The first KNX Certification Conference, which took place in the city of Dortmund, concluded after a great day of fruitful presentations. This event gathered reputed people related to the KNX industry: manufacturers, test labs, solution providers and renown professors, as well as other market-drivers.
The solutions from the system components providers covered part of the morning, when the latest technology resources were presented to the audience: transceivers and components for bus and wireless field devices, software encoding tools for fast-tracking development and certified devices which allow high-level programming.
These state-of-the-art technology solutions were followed by a not less informative presentation: Mr. Joost Demarest and Mr. Steven de Bruyne delivered an overview regarding how to approach the KNX Specifications and development from a very practical point of view.
After an “in-between-networking session”, Mr. Ufuk Unal presented the current status as well the future of the KNX Certification procedure, which will streamline the current system and will make the life easier for KNX Members.
The last part of the conference was well-looked after by experts in EITT, the software for testing of KNX devices, who shared their experience on how to make the most out of this tool as well insights after years of testing.
This was the first KNX Certification Conference but it certainly will not be the last one.
