Regent Homes’ exhibition home is a ‘smart’ move

Regent Homes has opened the doors to Adelaide’s first smart exhibition home at Lightsview.

The five bedroom, three bathroom home is powered by state-of-the-art technology provided by Clipsal by Schneider Electric, Google and Savant Home Automation. Visitors can test out control of lighting, speakers, fans, curtain and TV all through voice control.

With the Australian Internet of Things (Iot) set for huge growth in the coming years, Regent developed the exhibition home in partnership with Clipsal by Schneider Electric and Stepney-based Envy Electrical and Automation.

Regent Homes general manager Ryan Gazzard says that there is a real appetite for technology that makes people’s lives easier and enhances the way they live in their homes.

“We’re thrilled to have Clipsal – another South Australian – on board to showcase the potential of this technology.”

Tech savvy Australians are embracing smart home technology says Marcus Reilly, residential building manager at Schneider Electric, adding that the Regent Homes smart exhibition home is helping homeowners to imagine the benefits of a fully integrated home.

“Home automation can deliver improved energy efficiency and lower power bills, and we also find people are seeking improved safety for the family and the ability to easily create moods with lighting, blinds and music.”

Hundreds of visitors have visited the exhibition home since its opening and the feedback has been very positive.

Ryan adds: “This technology is resonating really well with customers and I believe consumer interest in this area will keep increasing as the technology is now within reach for all new home owners.”

The Regent Smart Home is open from midday to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. It is located at the Modern Masters Collection on Rhind Road in Lightsview.
