Midwich expands reach into NZ with acquisition of Wired

Midwich ANZ has acquired NZ-based distributor Wired.

Founded in 2003, Wired is the local distributor of Just Add Power, Atlona, On Controls and Platinum Tools, among many others. The company also supplies the NZ market with locally-made cable assemblies, copper and optical to various market sectors.

The acquisition of Wired will see Midwich ANZ able to expand its specialist sales and technical assistance teams and give the market access to new technologies under the current Midwich ANZ vendor portfolio.

“The acquisition of Wired supports two of our key strategic objectives – to provide outstanding value-added support to our customers and vendors, and to continue the rapid growth of our display solutions business,” says Midwich ANZ managing director Michael Broadbent.

For Wired NZ manager Bruce Mackay, the acquisition is the “next step in an exciting period of growth.”

“This exciting move allows our team to join the Midwich group and provide focus on the areas where we believe we truly add value to our trade partners. We have seen 12 months of exceptional growth with a number of new and exciting partnerships, all of which we plan to capitalise on and grow further with the support of Midwich.”
