Extron introduces fibre systems for 4K video, audio, control and USB

Extron has introduced the FOX3 Series, a family of fibre optic extenders and matrix switchers for end-to-end distribution of 4K video, audio, control, USB and 3D sync.

This fibre platform supports HDMI 2.0 data rates up to 18Gbps and is HDCP 2.2 compliant for the secure transmission of uncompressed 4K/60 4:4:4 video over two fibres or mathematically lossless video over one fibre.

“We are excited to set the new standard in fibre-optic video distribution with FOX3,” Extron vice president of sales and marketing Casey Hall says.

“By supporting mathematically lossless 4K over a single fibre, we give our customers the option of reducing their infrastructure requirements while also delivering uncompressed 4K when the highest quality image is required.”

FOX3 extenders feature a built-in USB for KVM applications while Extron-exclusive Vector 4K scaling technology ensures the user receives exceptional image quality.

The FOX3 Series distributes AV signals through a wide range of modular matrix switchers from 8×8 all the way up to 320×320 with enterprise-class features like redundant power supplies, hot-swappable modules and Ethernet monitoring.
