CEDIA APAC AWARDS 2019 – Winner of Best Integrated Home Level IV – Integrated Technologies Australia

This project required Integrated Technologies Australia to instill comfort, convenience, security, entertainment and efficiency into what was a property expansion.

The clients, an active family of four with two teenage boys, are interested in outdoor sporting activities, entertaining with friends, and gardening.

The family was keen to consider its impact on the environment by incorporating water harvesting and through the types of heating and cooling systems used. They were also keen to minimise wall control and device clutter while making the home services easy to manage.

A data sharing network and comprehensive managed WiFi coverage to the entire property was essential. The installed system allows music and movies to be sent to 15 audio zones and eight TVs, including two 360-degree swivelling 75-inch TVs in the outside pavilion area that can be viewed from the spa, pool, fire pit and outside kitchen.

A golf simulator solution was integrated using Crestron that allowed the user to turn on nine devices with the touch of a button. This room was also designed to facilitate watching movies with surround sound.

The automated scenes in the home are well thought out. For example, when a Blu-ray player is activated, the lights in that room will fade to ‘pre-movie mode’. When the movie starts playing, the lights will slowly fade out and any light switch motion sensors in the area are disabled. If the movie pauses, the lights fade up slightly. Once the movie finishes or the activity is switched off, the lights will slowly fade back up.
