AMX Defence Audio Visual Environment System receives defence accreditation

NX-1200Avt has announced it has received formal certification and accreditation from ICT Security Branch and Head ICT Operations (HICTO), Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG) of Australia’s Department of Defence for a Harman AMX Defence Audio Visual Environment System.

“It has been a pleasure to work closely with the many stakeholders in the Infrastructure Technical Integration, ICT Security Branch, and Directorate ICT Asset Management teams within CIOG over the two-year-plus journey to achieve this certification and accreditation for the AMX Defence Audio Visual Environment System,” says avt head of strategic partnerships and innovation Graham Barrett.

The accreditation is for AMX’s current NX series of NetLinx integrated AV control systems and Enova Digital Media and AV Presentation Switchers for direct connection to the Defence Restricted Network (DRN). This new capability provides a platform for network-based configuration and enterprise-grade monitoring and management of AMX-based AV environments in Defence facilities globally via the AMX Resource Management Suite (RMS).

“The approval process has been extremely demanding and was only made possible by the visionary approach of the AMX network security team who designed the new NX platform to ensure it met the stringent criteria for Defence ICT applications, and the ongoing engagement of the Harman enterprise solutions team with CIOG throughout the process”, says Graham.

Harman AMX’s NetLinx NX Controller is a programmable network appliance that has been designed to control AV and building technology using multiple analogue and digital formats. The NX Controller is included in AMX’s NetLinx Integrated Controller and Enova Digital Media and Presentation Switcher range. It provides a scalable platform for the future by combining high performance, backward compatibility and extensive network security features.

“With the underpinning certifications and accreditations in-place, we look forward to working with Defence and Defence contractors to leverage this new capability and significantly increase the ROI of AMX-equipped Defence Audio Visual Environments and improve the user experience for personnel who rely on Defence’s vast AMX estate for mission-critical performance every day,” says Graham.
