100,00% of 1 voters found this FAQ useful, I found this FAQ useful not useful - How is ABB lighting up the future?
ABB is lighting up the future, so to speak, with its i-bus ® EIB technology - an intelligent installation system.
Living in a heated home with electricity is a modern day comfort we often take for granted. But how it gets lit and heated is another story.
Demands on electrical installations in modern buildings have become even more sophisticated, not only in terms of functional diversity and convenience but also with regard to economical operation, flexibility and safety. Functions such as lighting, control of shutters and heating systems should go together automatically and economically, while being controllable and safe. With materials like glass, aluminum and plastic being used more widely for facades, and space-saving materials used for wall and ceiling constructions, it is becoming increasingly difficult to lay large quantities of cables for conventional installations. ABB’s i-bus EIB is the solution to many of these problems
100,00% of 3 voters found this FAQ useful, I found this FAQ useful not useful - How does it work?
One single two-wire control cable replaces the conventional excess of cables and ensures transmission of all switching and control commands. System components that perform such commands are programmable and can therefore be used flexibly. The bus cable is laid in the form of a line, a tree or a star structure and allows easy expansion or changes of use. Flexibility, material savings and a reduced fire risk by avoiding a large number of cables are the major advantages of the bus technology.
